説明
Twilight DeFi is a trust-oriented wallet dashboard built on Arbitrum Sepolia, governed by a fundamental design principle: no information is presented unless it can be derived directly from live blockchain state. The interface does not display fabricated portfolio values or estimated APRs. Loading states, errors, and empty states accurately reflect the underlying chain data. This can be verified by connecting a newly created address and observing the resulting state.
PROBLEM:
Many DeFi interfaces present users with excessive visual noise, unexplained financial metrics, and ambiguous transaction states. This can make managing digital assets unnecessarily complex and can reduce users' ability to distinguish verified information from interface-generated estimates.
SOLUTION:
Twilight addresses this problem by making verifiability a structural property of the application. Balances, staked principal, accrued rewards, and the staking pool's APR are derived from live contract state. APR is calculated from the current rewardRate and totalStaked values and is omitted when a meaningful calculation cannot be made. A permissionless on-chain faucet enables users and evaluators to obtain test tokens without manual funding. A guided onboarding flow introduces new users to their first complete on-chain interaction—from faucet claim and token approval through staking and reward claiming—while clearly displaying actual wallet and transaction confirmation states.
WHY ARBITRUM:
Twilight is deployed on Arbitrum Sepolia and uses standard EVM-compatible Solidity contracts with OpenZeppelin components. The project also incorporates Arbitrum-specific engineering considerations. In particular, Solidity's block.number behavior on Arbitrum returns an L1-oriented block estimate rather than the actual L2 block number. Using this value as the origin for event-log queries resulted in a starting block approximately 283 million blocks behind the current L2 head. Although the queries remained correct, they required approximately four minutes to complete. Twilight instead derives the true L2 deployment block from deployment broadcast receipts, reducing the same query to approximately 3.4 seconds.
SMART CONTRACT QUALITY:
TwilightStaking implements a Synthetix-style reward accumulator while explicitly addressing the risks associated with using the same token for staking and rewards. totalStaked is tracked independently from the contract's raw token balance, and reward distributions are limited to the balance remaining after accounting for staked principal. This ensures that one user's principal cannot be distributed as another user's reward. Reentrancy protection is exercised through tests involving a malicious ERC-20 implementation capable of re-entering during token transfers, rather than merely verifying the presence of a protection modifier. The contract suite contains 38 tests, including high-coverage unit tests, invariant/fuzz testing, and security-focused scenarios demonstrating that total accrued rewards do not exceed the amount emitted by the configured reward period. A white-box security review is also documented in SECURITY.md.
WHAT IS ACTUALLY ON-CHAIN:
All critical information presented by the interface is derived from blockchain state, including wallet balances, staking positions, accrued rewards, faucet cooldowns, and transaction activity. Transaction history is obtained directly from contract event logs rather than simulated or seeded data, and faucet cooldown enforcement is performed by the smart contract itself rather than by a client-side timer.
USER EXPERIENCE:
Twilight presents a cinematic "Evening Star" landing experience built as a layered 3D diorama using CSS perspective and pointer-based parallax without WebGL. The application supports both Twilight and Daybreak themes, with an animated transition between dark and light modes, as well as a guided onboarding experience for first-time users. Motion is implemented using GPU-efficient transform, opacity, and filter-based effects and respects prefers-reduced-motion throughout the application.
HOW TO REVIEW:
Open the live application, connect an Arbitrum Sepolia wallet, and select "Take the guided tour" to follow a complete on-chain workflow. The tour demonstrates the faucet, token approval, staking, reward accrual, and transaction confirmation process using real blockchain interactions. The Twilight ↔ Daybreak theme transition can also be demonstrated through the theme control. For an additional verification of the application's data integrity, connect a new address and observe the corresponding honest empty states.
ROADMAP:
Planned future development includes Paxos USDG integration for stable-value workflows, deployment to Arbitrum One, support for Robinhood Chain, and account abstraction through ZeroDev.
