설명
CapySpace is a playful and innovative web3 game that brings together emotional interaction and arcade action in a single immersive experience. At the heart of the game is your capybara — a lovable digital companion that you can bond with through simple interactions like giving love, petting, and spending time together. This emotional connection isn’t just cosmetic — it’s woven into the game’s mechanics and progression.
But CapySpace doesn’t stop at heartwarming moments. Once your capybara is ready, you launch into an exciting space shooter where the capy becomes the pilot of a rocket ship. You’ll navigate asteroid fields, defeat enemies, and collect power-ups in a fast-paced, retro-inspired arcade experience. The contrast between calm care-taking and intense action makes the game both unique and memorable.
Technically, CapySpace is built on StarkNet, using the Dojo game engine and smart contracts written in Cairo. We initially developed the game using a Unity SDK, but are now transitioning to a React-based SDK to improve web accessibility, performance, and direct integration with on-chain systems. This migration allows us to run the game entirely in the browser while maintaining decentralized, persistent game logic on StarkNet.
CapySpace explores the potential of on-chain gaming, where assets and interactions are truly owned by players. It also plays with emotional AI and digital companionship, making it more than just a game — it’s a new kind of digital experience.
Whether you're here to chill with your capybara or blast through galaxies, CapySpace offers a fun, experimental journey that blends care, chaos, and capybaras.

CapySpace began as a Unity-based project, but during the hackathon, we faced a major shift: the **React-based SDK** we needed for seamless StarkNet integration became available **late in the development timeline**. This meant we had to pivot fast — completely changing our tech stack with very little time left. As a result, **the version of CapySpace you see today was built in just two days**. Despite the time crunch, we managed to accomplish a lot in a very short period: ## What We Achieved in 48 Hours * ** Complete Frontend Rebuild** — We abandoned our Unity implementation and constructed an entirely new React-based client from the ground up using the newly available SDK. This architectural shift enabled direct browser-to-blockchain communication with Dojo and StarkNet, eliminating middleware dependencies and creating a truly web-native experience. * ** Full-Stack Blockchain Deployment** — Leveraging the power of Sozo, Katana, and Torii, we successfully deployed a complete on-chain world ecosystem where capybaras don't just exist as static assets, but actively live, interact, and evolve through player actions. Every capybara's state and behavior is permanently recorded on the blockchain. * ** Interactive Core Game Loop** — We implemented the foundational "give love" interaction system that forms the heart of CapySpace, along with the initial framework for our retro-inspired shooter mini-game where players pilot their capybaras in rockets through space adventures. These mechanics create meaningful player-capybara bonds while providing engaging gameplay. * ** True Decentralized Gaming Architecture** — Every player action, game state change, and capybara interaction is managed entirely on-chain, ensuring that gameplay experiences are genuinely decentralized, persistent across sessions, and owned by the players themselves rather than centralized servers. ## The Pivot Challenge Rebuilding the entire project in two days wasn't easy, but it was a valuable experience. The new SDK opened up the full potential of web3-native gameplay, and while we couldn't implement every feature we initially envisioned, we laid down a strong foundation for CapySpace's future. We proved that **on-chain games can be fast, fun, and reactive — even under pressure.**
