Project Description: Mintellect

Mintellect is a decentralized research publishing platform on BNB Chain that champions Tech Fairness in academia. We tackle the systemic issues of traditional publishing -gatekeeping by credentials, opaque peer reviews, and lack of author ownership -by creating a transparent, merit-based ecosystem powered by AI and a modular on-chain identity system.

Our mission is to build a world where the value of research is judged by its quality, not the author's background, and where knowledge is open and accessible to all.

How It's Made: Technology for a Fairer System

Mintellect integrates a powerful tech stack to create a truly decentralized and fair platform:

  • BNB Chain Core: All core logic runs on BNB Chain. We use it for minting research papers as NFTs (ensuring permanent author ownership), for our token-based incentive system, and for staking mechanisms that underpin the integrity of our peer reviews. Its low fees and high throughput make decentralized academic publishing viable at scale.

  • Community-Driven Peer Review (Powered by CARV ID): This is the heart of our fairness model. We replace opaque, anonymous reviews with a transparent process driven by a global community of experts. The entire system is anchored by a robust reputation framework built on CARV ID (ERC-7231).

    • Verifiable Reputation: Every community member—reviewer and author alike—builds a permanent, on-chain reputation tied to their CARV ID. High-quality reviews and highly-cited publications enhance this public reputation.

    • Merit-Based Access: The community governs itself. Reviewer eligibility is tied to their CARV ID reputation score, ensuring that critical research is evaluated by proven, trusted members of the community.

    • Multi-Identity Integration: Authors can bind their Web2 academic credentials (like ORCID) to their CARV ID, creating a holistic and trustworthy professional identity that solves a real-world verification problem.

  • AI-Powered Trust Score: Our system goes beyond standard (Web2-style) plagiarism checks. While we incorporate this crucial first step, our AI engine also analyzes submissions for AI-generated content ratios and citation quality. These factors are combined to generate an initial, unbiased "Trust Score," providing a comprehensive baseline of quality and integrity before community review begins.

  • Decentralized Storage: To ensure censorship resistance and permanence, all research metadata and content is stored on decentralized network -

We successfully built a functional MVP by deploying our AI Trust Score & plagiarism check, fully integrating BNB Testnet for NFT certificate minting, implementing IPFS for decentralized storage, developing a mobile-responsive UI demo showcasing the complete user flow, and establishing our foundational community on Telegram to bootstrap the peer review process.
