The project you're working on is an innovative AI-based educational tool, designed to assist teachers in grading student responses efficiently. Specifically tailored for 1-12 education, it aims to automate the grading process while maintaining the quality and accuracy expected from a human teacher. By simulating the role of a teacher, the system evaluates student answers on several fronts, including correctness, grammar, spelling, and overall formatting.

Key Features:

1. Correctness of Answers:The system checks whether the student’s answer aligns with the correct response expected for the question. If the answer is incorrect, the system assigns a score of 0, ensuring fairness in evaluation.
2. Grammar and Spelling Checks:The tool identifies both grammar and spelling mistakes in student responses. For every spelling mistake, a penalty of 0.22 marks is deducted, and for every grammar error, 0.34 marks are deducted from the score. This encourages students to be mindful of language use while answering.
3. Formatting and Length Assessment:For longer questions, the system assesses whether the response meets the expected length and structure, reflecting the depth of understanding required at different grade levels.
4. Class Level Alignment:Each response is evaluated based on the difficulty level appropriate for the student’s grade. This ensures that students are being judged according to what they should reasonably know at their respective class levels.

Target Audience:

The project focuses exclusively on 1-12 education, which ensures that the grading system is fine-tuned for school-level curriculum and not designed for higher education, like colleges or universities. The goal is to make grading less time-consuming for teachers and to provide students with immediate feedback.
