This update, scheduled to land in early October 2025, marks another step forward in the evolution of Bitcoin’s open and decentralized future.

At the same time, translations for the previous version 28.0 will be wrapped up and closed. It is a clean transition from one chapter to the next.
Two weeks later, the pace sharpens. No new features will be added after this point. From here on, only bug fixes will be accepted as part of the project. The translation strings will also be locked in, ensuring a stable and predictable base for the final testing stages. This is the moment the project shifts from building to refining.
By early September, all eyes turn to a key moment. On this day, the development team will split the version 30.x branch away from the master. This step officially begins the release candidate process. Version 30.0 RC1 will be tagged and shared, allowing the broader community to begin testing and offering final feedback. Meanwhile, development for version 31.x will quietly begin in the background, as the cycle continues.
