FinBotEdu is an AI financial agent for university students on Solana, designed to simplify managing tuition fees, scholarships, and campus expenses through natural language conversations.
Description FinBotEdu is an AI financial agent for university students on Solana, designed to simplify managing tuition fees, scholarships, and campus expenses through natural language conversations.
Right now, FinBotEdu already supports:
Setting tuition budgets via chat, like "Budget $500 for next semester's books."
Tracking scholarship inflows and generating monthly reports on fee payments.
Defining goals for student loans or emergency funds (e.g., laptop upgrades).
Staking or saving surplus scholarship funds directly from the dashboard or chat.
AI recommendations on allocating extras between debt repayment and low-risk DeFi yields.
Automated cron jobs that detect semester ends, prompting users to roll over budgets or auto-stake surpluses with smart tips.
These features turn FinBotEdu into an proactive advisor, not just a tracker—it acts on your student finances in real-time.
For adoption, we're building a mobile-first app with engaging push notifications, like: "Your scholarship just hit—$200 surplus! Stake for 5% APY or pay down loans?" This makes financial literacy interactive and supportive for busy students.
Looking ahead, FinBotEdu will become a full autonomous buddy:
Using session keys for hands-free auto-payments of recurring fees.
Deeper insights into spending patterns with personalized campus cost forecasts.
Integration with Solana education protocols for seamless scholarship claims.
Multi-currency support for SOL, USDC, and fiat like USD or EUR.
With this, FinBotEdu lays the groundwork for students to handle fees, save, and invest—just by chatting.
Hackathon Progress During the hackathon, we started with a core idea: an AI agent for student fee management on-chain, evolving from passive logging to active interventions. Week 1 – Ideation & Architecture: Scoped the MVP around chat-based budgeting and extensibility for autonomous actions. Week 2 – Core Budgeting & Tracking: Built natural language budget setting with wallet transaction logging and oracle-fed USD reports. Week 3 – Surplus & Recommendations: Added AI suggestions for scholarship surpluses, differentiating as an active tool. Week 4 – On-Chain Actions & Automation: Implemented stake/save flows via chat/dashboard, plus cron jobs for semester-end prompts. Final Week – Demo & Polish: Refined UX with dashboards for fees/expenses and simulated push notifications.
