A gamified testnet FLOW faucet, our solution to the bot problem!
Tired of testnet faucets requiring that you hold mainnet tokens in order to claim testnet tokens so they
can make sure (as much as they can, anyway) that you're not a bot or a malicious actor that wants
to rob their resources?
Well, look no further!
Flow Cats is a gamified testnet FLOW faucet that requires you to play a game in order to claim testnet
tokens, free of charge!
Built on the FLOW testnet blockchain, users (who are mostly developers) can claim testnet FLOWs by
collecting kittens in the game which can be synced online using the Teleporter in-game item.
Upon collecting at least 15 kittens, a user can claim a reward from the dApp, with a maximum of
4 rewards per day (to prevent hoarding, please be reasonable developers).
The game was made using RPG Maker MZ, the dApp was made using a React app using Reown Appkit and Wagmi,
and the smart contract was tested using Foundry.During the hackathon we added support for FLOW, added those floating question mark events which give you a random fact about FLOW, and added all the NFT mechanics.
Donating extra testnet FLOWs to the game address (which can be found in the dApp's website) would be really appreciated. Donating 10M testnet FLOWs makes you eligible for advertisement, as well!
