GuardChain AI reimagines insurance for gig workers, daily wage earners, and community groups like Kudumbashree by fusing AI-powered claim verification with blockchain transparency and democratic governance. Every claim, vote, and surplus decision is immutably recorded on-chain, turning traditional insurance’s delays and opacity into a fast, fair, and community-owned system — the world’s first digital cooperative insurer built for the people it protects.

Problem
High cost of policies designed for profit, not people.
Complex, paper-heavy claims that create endless delays.
Opaque decisions with little accountability.
Surpluses pocketed by corporates instead of benefiting members.
Insurance products mismatched to the realities of gig workers, migrants, and SHGs.
AI-powered claims → document verification, fraud detection, instant decision support.
Blockchain-native adjudication → smart contracts automate rules; all outcomes are auditable.
Community jury governance → randomized, reputation-weighted voting on disputed claims.
Digital cooperative model → members pool risk, vote on surplus use, and share rewards.
Micro-policies for underserved → designed for gig workers, SHGs, and migrants, with affordable contributions and clear coverage windows.
Ultra-Low Fees — sub-cent costs make micro-claims feasible at scale.
Orbit Scaling — option to launch our own dedicated insurance chain as GuardChain grows.
Stylus Compute — heavy claim logic and jury processes run at Web2 efficiency.
Proven Ecosystem — Arbitrum provides the right mix of speed, security, and compliance flexibility.
GuardChain begins with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Kudumbashree in India — networks of millions of women already pooling money for resilience. These groups provide the trust, accountability, and culture of shared governance that make GuardChain’s model natural and scalable.
Minimal transaction fee on policy contributions to sustain infrastructure.
Verifier gas reimbursement for community claim validators.
Developer support fee to fund platform growth.
Surplus redistribution to members, not corporates.

During the buildathon, we ideated, designed, and built the MVP of GuardChain AI — a community-governed, blockchain-native insurance platform. We implemented the core flows for AI-powered claim verification, on-chain adjudication, jury-based governance, and surplus redistribution logic. The MVP demonstrates how GuardChain can bring gig workers, daily wage earners, and Kudumbashree self-help groups onto a transparent, cooperative insurance model powered by Arbitrum.
We are currently at the MVP stage and actively building GuardChain AI into a community-owned insurance platform. Over the last few weeks, we engaged with 6,000+ members of Kudumbashree self-help groups in Kerala, along with their families, and received strong interest in onboarding. Our go-to-market strategy begins with communities like Kudumbashree and other self-help groups across India, which together represent nearly 90 million people. These grassroots networks already pool funds and share risks, making them the ideal launchpad for GuardChain’s mutual, cooperative model. We are now onboarding these early communities into the GuardChain ecosystem and are seeking initial support from Arbitrum to strengthen our infrastructure, scale pilots, and accelerate community adoption.
