Arbisper is a decentralized peer to peer messaging app built on XMTP, designed for people who want secure communication without handing their conversations to a central platform. Instead of relying on a single server, messages move through an open network, while end to end encryption ensures only participants can read what they share. Your wallet becomes your identity, keeping ownership and control where it belongs on the user side.
What makes Arbisper distinctive is how it blends familiar chat ergonomics with Web3 native guarantees. It supports direct messages and group chats, rich Markdown, replies, reactions, read states, and attachments, while remaining privacy first by design. Under the hood, it integrates smoothly with common wallets and can support smart accounts, making onboarding and key management more flexible than typical crypto apps.
Optimized for the Arbitrum ecosystem, Arbisper aims to make decentralized messaging feel fast and practical at everyday scale, not just as a proof of concept. It is a foundation for communities that want communication that is resilient, portable, and independent of any single company’s infrastructure.

We have successfully enabled encrypted wallet to wallet messaging on Arbitrum One mainnet, proving that Arbisper can deliver real communication without a centralized server. This milestone confirms our core thesis: users should be able to chat privately with self owned identity, while messages travel through the XMTP network and remain readable only to participants. From there, we built a complete messaging experience that feels familiar yet Web3 native. Users can connect with MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or WalletConnect, start direct conversations, and use a modern chat interface with fast rendering and smooth navigation. We also implemented key chat capabilities such as group creation and membership management, message replies, reactions, read states, and Markdown support for richer expression. Attachments are supported through XMTP content types, enabling images and files to be shared in a way that preserves privacy and portability. On the engineering side, we delivered a clean monorepo workflow with type safety, linting, testing hooks, and flexible configuration for networks and XMTP environments. Overall, the hackathon sprint moved Arbisper from concept to a working mainnet ready prototype with a clear path to polish, scale, and community adoption.
