Kaboom is a Web3-powered multiplayer battle game inspired by Mini Militia, designed to make blockchain adoption seamless and fun. At its core, Kaboom delivers exciting gameplay first, ensuring players enjoy the thrill of fast-paced combat before encountering any Web3 complexity.

Players begin with simple character selection and battles, but as they progress, they unlock Character NFTs, earn reward tokens, and record victories on-chain. These Web3 elements are introduced gradually and invisibly, so players learn about wallets, tokens, and NFTs without jargon or barriers.

Built on Sui, Kaboom leverages Move smart contracts for secure asset management, Node.js for backend logic, and a JavaScript frontend for smooth player interaction. This combination ensures scalable, real-time multiplayer action while providing a gateway into blockchain through rewards, progression, and ownership.

By blending familiar gameplay with innovative Web3 features, Kaboom solves the challenge of onboarding mainstream users into Web3. Instead of complex tutorials, players experience blockchain benefits naturally as part of their fun.

🚧 Progress Update During the hackathon, we focused on building the core foundations of Kaboom: ✅ Smart contract modules for Character NFTs, Reward Tokens, and Arena Registry. ✅ Backend setup with Node.js for game logic and Sui integration. ✅ Early frontend integration to connect gameplay with blockchain features. A large portion of our time was spent debugging the Move smart contracts, since this was our first deep dive into Sui development. While this slowed progress on the frontend, it gave us valuable insights and a strong foundation for the future. The frontend is not yet fully complete — our goal was a Mini Militia–style back-and-forth battle game, which we plan to implement soon. Our next steps are to: Finalize the frontend gameplay for a fun, dynamic battle experience. Seamlessly integrate NFT rewards and token economy. Optimize matchmaking and multiplayer scalability. Though unfinished, Kaboom now has its core Web3 backbone ready, and we are excited to build the full fun gameplay loop on top of it.

Currently, Kaboom is a self-funded project built for the hackathon. We have not raised external funding yet, as our primary focus has been on validating the idea and building the core foundation. Our next step after polishing the prototype is to explore grants, partnerships, and seed funding opportunities to accelerate development and bring Kaboom to market.
