Overview:

MAA is a B2B MedTech platform that ensures patients take their prescribed medications on time through real-time alerts, hospital integration, and caretaker support. It streamlines post-hospital care and chronic treatment by connecting doctors, pharmacists, patients, and caretakers in one ecosystem.

Key Features:

Doctor Web App: Assigns prescriptions with dosage, frequency, and duration

Pharmacist Portal: Manages global medicine database

Patient Mobile App: Receives alerts, logs doses, links caretakers

Caretaker Notifications: Acts as backup when doses are missed

Smart Scheduling: Uses Firebase Cloud Messaging for timely alerts

Secure Backend: JWT-based auth, PostgreSQL (NeonDB), Prisma ORM

During the hackathon, we developed the MVP of MAA – My Alerting Ally, focusing on both the hospital web app and the patient mobile app. The hospital-side system, built with React and Node.js, includes core functionalities such as role-based login, patient registration, medicine management by pharmacists, and prescription assignment by doctors with dosage, frequency, and duration. On the patient side, the Kotlin-based Android app features real-time medication alerts using Firebase Cloud Messaging, smart handling of missed doses, and a caretaker system that ensures continued support. The frontend has been successfully hosted on AWS, and major modules have been implemented and tested. Future plans include integrating Qdrant and retrieval-augmented generation to enable intelligent querying and personalization.
