Sweekaar: Empowering Neurodivergent Children and Families

Problem Statement:

Neurodivergent children, such as those with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and cerebral palsy, face numerous barriers to integrating into mainstream society. Parents often lack timely guidance and structured roadmaps, resulting in emotional, mental, and financial strain. Traditional educational platforms restrict children’s movements, focusing on academics while neglecting critical life skills and social interactions, leading to frustration for both children and parents.

Sweekaar as an Organisation:

Sweekaar addresses these gaps holistically by providing personalized care, social interaction, and developmental opportunities for neurodivergent children.

Volunteer Therapists & Professional Support: Sweekaar collaborates with volunteer therapists and healthcare professionals who offer tailored guidance and therapy, including specialized techniques like Shirodhara for cerebral palsy.

Donations & Funding: Financial support from donors enables the organization to host interactive meet-ups, therapy sessions, and community activities, making resources available to families regardless of their financial situation.

Meet-Ups & Performances: Sweekaar organizes meet-ups and events where children can participate in social activities, perform on stage, and interact with peers, helping them build confidence and develop socially.

Awareness Campaigns & Parental Support: The platform raises awareness through speaker sessions, campaigns, and professional guidance to reduce the stigma around neurodivergence. It also provides roadmaps and expert advice to help parents navigate challenges.

Key Features:

Daily Tasks Centre: Using motion detection technology (similar to Xbox Kinect used in JustDance), the Daily Tasks Centre monitors and guides children through daily routines like brushing teeth. This real-time task detection reduces parental labor and promotes independence by allowing children to perform tasks on their own, with the frequency of instructions gradually decreasing.

Fun Modules for Dyslexia: Engaging modules designed for dyslexic children include letter training, jumbled words, and interactive games. These activities help improve reading and writing skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Interactive Speech Modules: Speech training is structured into levels, focusing on pronunciation and fluency. Children progress through these modules with real-time feedback.

Meets & Greets: Sweekaar facilitates meet-and-greet sessions for children and parents, fostering peer support and creating social connections for neurodivergent children, which can help build friendships and community.

Professional Therapists & Roadmaps: Parents can connect with professional therapists for personalized therapy plans, as well as receive detailed roadmaps for their child’s development. These roadmaps guide parents step-by-step, reducing uncertainty

What Sets Us Apart:

Unlike other platforms that are restricted to academic learning or screen-based education, Sweekaar promotes holistic development through real-world engagement, life skills training, and social interaction. Our platform fosters independence, confidence, and social inclusion for neurodivergent children, equipping them with the skills needed for life beyond the classroom.
