Sales Manager for Lubricants

Role Overview


The Sales Manager for Lubricants is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive market growth, achieve revenue targets, and strengthen brand presence across assigned regions and customer segments. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, leadership, and strong business acumen in the lubricants industry.


Key Responsibilities


1. Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives in line with company goals.
  • Forecast sales volumes and revenue, and prepare annual and quarterly business plans.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities.
  • Formulate pricing strategies in coordination with management to ensure market competitiveness and profitability.



2. Business Development

  • Identify and acquire new distributors, dealers, OEMs, fleet operators, and industrial customers.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, partnerships, and supply agreements.
  • Strengthen existing relationships and ensure high levels of customer retention.
  • Explore new regional markets and product applications for business expansion.


3. Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of sales representatives or territory managers.
  • Set performance targets, monitor results, and conduct regular reviews.
  • Provide coaching, sales training, and performance feedback to enhance team capability.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical sales practices and company policies.


4. Marketing & Promotions

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design promotional campaigns and launch new products.
  • Plan and execute trade shows, exhibitions, and customer engagement programs.
  • Support branding initiatives and ensure effective market visibility of lubricant products.


5. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and technical issues promptly.
  • Gather feedback to improve service quality and product offerings.


6. Operations & Coordination

  • Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Monitor distributor stock levels and manage order fulfillment.
  • Oversee credit control, payment collections, and account reconciliation.


7. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare regular sales reports and business performance summaries.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as volume, revenue, and margin growth.
  • Analyze sales data to recommend corrective actions or new growth strategies


8. Technical & Product Knowledge

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of lubricant formulations, performance specifications, and applications.
  • Train distributors and customers on product use, benefits, and maintenance practices.
  • Stay updated with industry standards (API, SAE, OEM specifications) and new product technologies.


Qualifications & Requirements


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering,
  • Chemical Engineering, or a related field.


Experience:

  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in sales and business development within the lubricants, automotive, or petrochemical industry.

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing distributor/dealer networks.


  • Experience handling industrial, automotive, or marine lubricant segments is an advantage.


Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of lubricant products, applications, and market segments.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and CRM tools.
  • Leadership and team management capability.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness
