Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing projects from initiation through completion across mining, dredging, and shipping operations. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, contractual obligations, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Project Manager coordinates cross-functional teams, manages project risks, and maintains effective communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, execute, monitor, and close projects in accordance with approved scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, resource allocation plans, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate activities among engineering, operations, procurement, logistics, marine, and construction teams.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  • Manage project budgets, expenditures, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards and applicable local and international regulations.
  • Oversee contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring work meets contractual and technical requirements.
  • Manage procurement activities, including equipment, materials, and service contracts.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Conduct project meetings, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain project documentation.
  • Coordinate permitting, regulatory approvals, and stakeholder engagement where required.
  • Support contract administration, change management, and claims resolution.
  • Ensure successful project commissioning, handover, and close-out, including lessons learned and final documentation.
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence across project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in mining, dredging, shipping, marine construction, or heavy industrial operations.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale capital or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with HSEQ management systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and work at project sites, ports, mines, shipyards, or remote locations as required.
