BeTheNation.Fun is a decentralized platform for perpetual prediction markets, allowing users to speculate on the long-term economic outlook of countries through a novel on-chain instrument called CountryScore. This score is dynamically generated using macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, GDP growth, stock indices, bond yields, and exchange rates, transforming abstract economic data into tradable financial primitives.

Unlike traditional prediction markets that rely on binary outcomes and expire on specific dates, BeTheNation.Fun offers non-expiring (perpetual) markets, where users can open long or short positions indefinitely. These positions are maintained through a funding fee mechanism that aligns incentives between bullish and bearish traders — similar to perpetual futures in crypto markets.

Built for the Pharos Builder Base Camp Hackathon, the project is fully on-chain, leveraging smart contracts written in Solidity and deployed on Base (via Pharos testnet). Trades, fees, and profit distribution are fully automated, ensuring transparency and permissionless access for anyone, anywhere.
