Transforming real-world road safety signals, like police checkpoints and road noise into verifiable data in low-surveillance streets, where traditional traffic monitoring is limited or nonexistent.
Problem:
Road users in many African cities face unpredictable checkpoints, traffic hazards, and unsafe conditions. Traditional traffic monitoring is limited, leaving streets underserved and largely unmonitored, which increases risk for everyday commuters and transport services.
Solution:
Siren crowdsources real-time road safety reports, like police checkpoints and high-noise or hazardous areas, directly from users. Each report is automatically validated using location, frequency, and reputation scores on chain, then stored in a live, queryable dataset. Users mint points for verified reports, creating incentives for accurate contributions.
Impact:
By transforming unmonitored streets into trusted, actionable data, Siren empowers citizens and communities to navigate safer and smarter, especially in underserved African neighborhoods. Over time, these verified datasets are tokenized as World Data Assets, enabling broader access, rewards, and integration with navigation and mobility platforms such as Google Maps.
For the Buildathon, worked mostly on; 1. User Reporting: via mobile web interface 2. Live Dashboard: Validated reports are displayed on Google Sheets, showing active checkpoints in real time. 3. Reward System & Tokenized Assets: Users earn points for verified reports, which can later be converted into shares of a “World Data Asset” representing the reported area, simulating tokenized ownership and value distribution.
