Description

Sweep is a USDC payment platform that lets users deposit, send, and withdraw fiat and stablecoin across chains, with subscription billing. Users deposit USDC from any supported chain, Sweep automatically sweeps funds to the platform treasury which then automatically deposit into the Treasury Unified Balance through the Circle Gateway — no manual steps. Users can transfer funds to any end user on sweep to their email address, and the receiver being credited instantly—no ACH or Bank wire involve. That means no more "wait for 3-5 working days". Users can also withdraw to any wallet on any blockchain of their choice as long as Sweeps supports that blockchain.

The problems Sweep is trying to solve and why it's important

1. Moving Money Between Crypto and the Real World Is Broken

2. Integrate 4–6 separate tools (wallet provider, payment processor, billing system, bank payout service)

3. Spend 3–6 months building the infrastructure

4. Pay 3–15% in fees across different providers

5. Deal with card network restrictions, chargebacks, and geographic limitations

6. Emerging Markets Are Locked Out of Global Finance

In countries like Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya:

1. Bank transfers fail regularly

2. Card payments are rejected by international platforms

3. Cross-border fees eat 5–10% of every transaction

4. Crypto adoption is high but cashing out is painful Why It Is Important

Financially: The global payments market is worth over $3 trillion. Stablecoin payment volume crossed $10 trillion in 2024 — more than Visa and Mastercard combined. The infrastructure layer for this is still being built.

For users: A person in Lagos should be able to receive a USDC subscription payment, withdraw to their local bank, and pay a vendor — all in one platform, for less than $2 in fees total.

For Web3 adoption: Crypto stays niche as long as using it requires technical expertise. Sweep makes USDC payments as simple as using PayPal — which is the unlock for mainstream adoption.

The solution that Sweep brings to these problems:

Problem 1: Moving Money Is Broken

Sweep's solution:

1. Users deposit USDC from any supported chain

2. Sweep automatically sweeps funds to the platform treasury which then automatically deposit into the Treasury Unified Balance through the Circle Gateway— no manual steps

3. Users can transfer funds to any end user on sweep to their email address, and the receiver being credited instantly—no ACH or Bank wire involve. That means no more "wait for 3-5 working days"

4. Users withdraw to any wallet on any blockchain of their choice as long as Sweeps supports that blockchain.

Problem 2: Emerging Markets Locked Out of Global Finance

Sweep's solution:

1. USDC runs on blockchain rails — no card network, no correspondent bank, no geographic restriction

2. Cross-chain bridging via Gateway + Unified Balance means USDC moves between chains automatically and settles in under 1,000 seconds

3. Escrow transfer system lets anyone send USDC to an email address — recipient does not even need a wallet set up yet

4. Very affordable fees mean a user in Lagos pays the same as a user in London

5. Sweep does not ask users to understand blockchain. It takes everything that is hard about moving stablecoin — bridging, billing, security, payouts — and wraps it into one clean product that just works.
